BIG GREEN RABBIT has formed an alliance with the Children, Youth and Environments Center for Research and Design of the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center, publishers of the distinguished CYE Journal. The CYE Journal is the premier source for authoritative research articles, in-depth reviews, cutting-edge field reports, critical book reviews and the latest news on children, youth and their environments. Early Childhood Education Experts

Gretchen ’Sue’ McCordGretchen ’Sue’ McCord
Sue McCord received her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood from Wheelock College and her Master of Science degree in Early Childhood from the State University of New York at Cortland. She directed the laboratory preschools at Cornell University, The University of Denver, and the University of Colorado. She also taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Early Childhood at these institutions.

Sue has been a conference speaker on early childhood education at the state and national level. She has consulted with organizations across the country on creating curricula and educational environments that reach young children in all phases of their development. She is a published author, including The Storybook Journey: Pathways to Literacy through Story and Play, Stories and Strategies for Communication, Three and Four Year Olds, and Trash to Treasure. She has served as an advocate for families, as a member of early childhood advisory boards in the community, and as a coach and curriculum consultant to directors of various child-care centers in Colorado.


Anne B. WeilAnne B. Weil
Anne B. Weil graduated cum laude from Yale University with a B.A. in American Studies concentrating in Environmental History. After six years working in the real estate group at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York City, Anne moved to Boulder, CO to pursue her love for environmental education. Upon arriving in Boulder, Anne worked for the outdoor experiential education magazine, The Outdoor Network, before joining Environmental Communications Associates to write environmental education curricula in 2001. Among her accomplishments is the development of an award-winning curriculum for Dallas Area Rapid Transit for 1st through 4th graders, as well as extensive curricula development for the City of Boulder. Anne co-wrote the accompanying curriculum for Operation Water-fest, a festival celebrating water education and conservation for 5th and 6th Grades. She conceptualized, developed and co-wrote the H2O Go! water education curriculum for 7th and 8th Grades for the City of Boulder. Anne has also been a backpacking trip leader for Wilderness Ventures based out of Jackson, WY and for Manitowish based out of Wisconsin and has a strong love for outdoor experiential and environmental education. Anne is the proud mother of three children under 6, which further drives her deep passion for the educational objectives of the BIG GREEN RABBIT.
